City Fiction’s Blog on National Cholesterol Month

30 Oct

October was National Cholesterol Month for HEART UK and City Fiction arranged some fundraising events.

On Saturday 4th October, we managed to spend some time in the Leighton Buzzard branch of Tesco, where HEART UK got huge visibility and customers had the opportunity to buy novels and charity booklets and get them signed.

On Wednesday 8th October, myself – Cathy Wright, Marketing Director for City Fiction went to Intu, Milton Keynes to promote and sell Tony Drury’s charity booklets. I was invited along by Charlotte Hoare, Development Manager for HEART UK, who was at the centre, again raising funds and raising awareness. Supported by their partner BetaVivo, who were supporting the charity by offering FREE Cholesterol Testing.

On Friday 17th October, we were at Tesco’s Leighton Buzzard again, this time with FREE food samples on offer. Customer Experience Manager, Emma Brandon, suggested the idea of offering APPROVED HEART UK related products to their customers to sample. We had Tony Drury there again, signing books.

On Wednesday 22nd October, a local pub, the Axe and Compass, Heath and Reach held a Quiz night with all proceeds going to the charity. We had such a fun evening and thank Jake and Ryan, proprietors for their support.

Over £750 has been raised by City Fiction for the charity.
