City Fiction meets with HEART UK
A meeting was held in London last Thursday with Tony Drury, Cathy Wright of City Fiction Ltd and Development Manager for HEART UK, Charlotte Hoare.
Tony has set himself a challenge……to raise £2,500 this year as a Celebrity Ambassador for the charity. He has started the ball rolling by donating his fees from the Writing Masterclass that he ran for over 80 children at a local upper school last month. Keep an eye on his progress by watching the % achieved go up on the fundraising meter on the ‘home’ page.
Following the success of the first short story that he wrote for HEART UK last year, ‘Hannah’s Choice’, Tony is currently writing another short story ‘Joanna’s Choice’. This time, with the help of Raven Crest Books, City Fiction have decided to publish it in e-book format as well – a 20 minute or so short story, ideal for a short train journey or quick read: both paperback and e-book versions will be cost effective. All profits will be going directly to the charity.
We reviewed National Cholesterol Month, which is to be held in October this year for a month as opposed to a week in 2013. Fund-raising ideas were discussed, in particular running a Golf Tournament. City Fiction hope to get local supporters behind them to run events in support of National Cholesterol Month, pampered chef parties, cake sales, sponsored walks, runs, etc.
